Vienna, Austria: Austria’s Next Top Model demanded their contestants to go nude over a photo shoot for its latest episode.
Austria’s Next Top Model is an Austrian reality television series based on Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model, which sees a number of aspiring models compete against each other in a variety of competitions. While on-set shooting the latest episode, the models were insisted to participate and strip down completely naked for a photo shoot. This didn’t stop here, but as per sources, they were asked to be touched by male models for this risqué shoot.
During such event, one of the contestants broke down in tears and other looked nervous and distressed with the idea. This happened during the second episode of the show’s eighth season.
Some of the dramatic scenes are featured in a racy YouTube promo for the episode.
The incident became a serious take and went too far for many on social media.
“This is an absolute disgrace. Just another example of the degradation and humiliation that young women suffer in media. I’m appalled. The producers should be sacked immediately,” writes Facebook user Bronny Lane.
The nude photo challenge paired the contestants up with another model and photographer Kartin Schöning. They were given just 15 minutes to capture the perfect photo on a balcony at a plush country house.
The Next Top Model brand was created by Tyra Banks and has been broadcast in more than 120 countries.
The winner normally receives a modelling contract, cosmetics campaign and a fashion magazine spread that also includes the front cover.
