Queen Elizabeth shocks fashion world, joins London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week

London, United Kingdom: Queen Elizabeth who is known for her fashion prowess, joins London Fashion Week’s Richard Quinn show and shocks the fashion industry with her eye into fashion. The show which was held on the last day of London Fashion Week made it one of the biggest headlines in the history of fashion, where monarchs attend the fashion week for the first time.

For the first time ever in her life, 91-year old Queen Elizabeth II gave a special surprise appearance at London Fashion Week showing bigwig‘s like Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle that they’re not the only one that has an eye on the fashion industry.

The queen joined the British designer’s Richard Quinn show and sat next to Vogue editor-in-chief Dame Anna Wintour on the front row, and looked like she was really enjoying the show.

While Richard Quinn is known for his bold designs, Queen opted to attend the show in quite simple and subtle attire wearing a suit of duck-egg blue, black gloves, and black shoes and had placed her black handbag at her feet.

“There was a hush as she entered the room, with the audience standing up to greet the monarch and, of course, raising their phones to get that all-important social media picture,” wrote Guardian newspaper journalist Lauren Cochrane.

The queen’s presence and promotion of the British fashion world is important for the industry which is worth £26 billion ($36.3 billion) a year (figures from the 2016 event show) and 800,000 jobs to the economy, the British Fashion Council notes.

However, it was Anna Wintour’s appearance at the show that got people talking, with many taking to social media to slam the Vogue artistic director’s poor etiquette while speaking to Her Royal Highness. Anna Wintour Gets Rude Remarks On Social Media.
